Emily Abernathy
I work with individuals, couples, and families who feel stuck in painful patterns—whether that’s constant conflict, disconnection, or struggles that seem to repeat no matter how hard you try to change them. Using a trauma-informed approach, I help clients understand the deeper roots of their emotions, relationships, and behaviors so that real, lasting change can happen. Therapy should be a collaborative space where you can feel understood, challenged, and supported as we work toward stronger relationships and a clearer sense of self.
I am trained in Gottman Couples counseling and EMDR therapy. I primarily use somatic work, EFT, and IFS in session. I believe in the power of story-telling in the healing journey.

About Emily
My goal is to make therapy a safe space where you don't have to hide who you are. Reaching out for help and opening yourself up is often the hardest step.
